Errors follow the OpenAI shape {"error": {"message", "type"}}.
Status codes
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 400 | Invalid request — check parameters. |
| 401 | Invalid or revoked API key. |
| 402 | Insufficient balance — top up to continue. |
| 404 | Unknown model or task id. |
| 429 | Rate limited — retry with backoff. |
| 500 / 503 | Upstream issue — retry; failed requests are not billed. |
Failed request billing
Failed requests are never billed — you are only charged for successful generations. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support with the request id from your usage log.
